COSTUME NATIONAL is an Italian fashion house founded in 1986 by Ennio Capasa, (before Yohji Yamamoto’s assistent) and his brother Carlo, that in the same year, they present the first women collection in Milan. COSTUME NATIONAL blends Italian tailoring tradition with a sensibility towards what is modern and sophisticated. COSTUME NATIONAL style has its roots in 70’s rock’n’roll music, the silhouette is slim and near to body, modish and tasteful. The use of the color is calm, prevail dark and natural colors, with some reference to the seasonal colors, tissues and materials are always innovative. The target and the ambition of Ennio Capasa has always been to create a style, an aesthetic point of view reading the newspaper and the energy that circulates around us, using the intuition. The autumn collection 2013 is described by Ennio Capasa “Buildings tailoring and scraps of Miao ethnic group. Essential women with slight touches of eccentricity. Minimal, edgy-chic, rock and roll. For real women”. The colors that characterize this season are black, midnight blue, burned and white. Jacquard striped, draperies and graphics of ethnic inspiration. The materials used in this collection are a mix of different weight tissues, nylon and silk, double wool Crêpe and silk, chiffon and leather, double satin and suede, eco fur, leather coupled with jersey. I’ve always admired the taste and the style of COSTUME NATIONAL, I think what Ennio Capasa has managed to give a very strong identity that allows at a glance to recognize the brand.
